Hi,

How can I remove your Joomla-Monster footer link permanently?

We removed it previously and after an update, the link reappeared.

The previous suggestion shown on this page indicates to delete a line in the footer.php file.

www.joomla-monster.com/blog/joomla-templ...-be-removed-for-free

But - this got overwritten with recent updates, such as DJ-Classifieds, DJ-MegaMenu, and DJ-Mediatools.

Anyone with suggestions for a solution that doesn't have to be repeated if there are updates?

Your help is appreciated.

Hello,
This file is overwriten only with template update (not DJ-Classifieds and other extensions).
I'm afraid there is no other way at this moment.
You just need to remember to not overwrite footer.php during template update.

Disappointing.

What you propose would be hard to do in practical terms:

1. The template update itself appeared to be a 1-step process that did not allow for the deselection of specific files before applying the update.
2. In the future, a different web developer might be in charge of site upkeep, and might not know of the original customization.

I suggest that Joomla-Monster.com make this displayed text an option in the admin interface, so the site owner could turn it on or off as desired.

If there is some type of deselection mechanism built in for this purpose (either in your interface or in Joomla), please point me to that.

Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion.

The easiest way at this moment is to:
a) change name of footer.php file for example to footer_.php
b) install template via Joomla back-end
c) remove footer.php file
d) re-name footer_.php to footer.php

We will work on some other solutions in future.

Have a nice day.
