Helllo,

I just did the quickstart installation, and everything seem to have worked, as i can see the components, the modules etc on the admin page.

The problem is that i only see the JM-JoomClassifields Logo but nothing else on the frontpage.

I tryed a couple of times, with the same result every time.

Does anyone know where the problem could come from ? I am working on a local site, so that i can't give you a url...

Thank you in advance for your help and inputs :)

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.
Since your site is running on a localhost, it is hard to say what can be the reason.

First of all, you should make sure if your localhost meets the minimum requirements for Joomla:
www.joomla.org/technical-requirements.html

You can also try to download a different version of a localhost app. I have just tested on XAMPP 1.8.0 and works fine.

Hope this will be helpful for you.

Regards,
Marcin

Thank you for your answer.

Actually, Joomla is running fine - it's just that once i upload the quickstart on the server, all i see as frontpage is a white screen with the logo on it... I really can't tell what the problem could be.

Here is how i proceed :
1) i copy the quickstart.zip
2) i paste and unzip it on the server (/var/www/html/joomla in my case as i'm working on a linux machine)
3) i also do chmod, but really not sure if this necessary

what i see in the admin section, is the components, modules etc that come with the quickstart installation - but on the frontpage, just nothing appears, except the logo...
here is what i get on the frontpage :

What am i doing wrong ?

Thank you in advance for your help. Have a nice Sunday

The solution was to reinstall all the server files and to create a new database. Once this was done, i extracted the files of the quickstart.zip into the joomla folder and started the joomla installation again.

It seems that my "how to install joomla on ubuntu" was to old... should have checked this sooner. Anyway : Thanx for the support!
