alccad created the topic: Logout button
Hi, maybe this is a basic question but I'm not a programmer so...
I purchased this Template for J3.1 and I find it very nice and I'm satisfied with it.
I'm trying to understand how login works: I've got a login link in the upper right corner fo the page and it works, but once I'm logged in there's no logout button/link at its place.
I tried going to modules page, but all "login" modules (3 present) are unpublised.
So here my question: how can I edit the login method so that once logged in, I can see a logout button/link in the same place?
I'm also trying to undestand how to redirect logged in users to the home page rather than to the profile page they can edit, but I really don't know where to change this option.
Is it possible that login module present in this template is stored somewhere else than module page?
Thank You in advance.

Hello,
In first case, have you published module Login on this position ? ( module login at default have option to show button login/logout )
Could you send your site URL and Backend details on www.joomla-monster.com/contact , please ? That will help with locating the problem.

Second case, To set redirect page, just edit module Login and in Basic settings change option Login Redirection Page or Logout Redirection Page. More details on screenshot.

Best Regards.

Hi and thank You for Your reply.
I tried to enable/disable login module one by one, until I found one that seems to have effect on homepage.
The problem is that:

1) If I leave it "Suspended" there's a login button at the top right corner of the page that leads to another login page and this can be fine.

2) Once the login is done, no Logout /exit link is shown on the homepage and this is a problem.

3) If I leave it "Published", at the top right corner of the page, I can see not only a login link, but a whole module that shows over the page structure.

4) If I login here, an "Exit" button remains at the top of the page.

In conclusion, what I need is option 1) and 4).

Hello,
Now I get it ;)
To fix the problem - change option Access in module login : set Registered.
Because login/signup are links ( menus User )
and only logout button is from module ( its the only way to logout ).
More details on screenshot.

Best Regards.

Thanks for Your support, setting the access level to registered did the trick 99%.
The only problem left, is that I set the after login and after logout reidrect to homepage.
But, while after logout I get correctly redirected to homepage, after login I land at the user's profile page.
Do You know maybe why?
Thanks again!

Hello,
Yes, because login option is set in menus (login button is menu item not from login module - little trick ;) )
To change redirect please go Backend -> Menus -> User -> Login item -> Advanced options -> Login Redirect

Best Regards.
