No matter what I do, I cannot get my template to install like the demo. My joomla was installed by my host automatically using fantastico. Do you have better documentation I can use to install the template? Thanks,Kim

To get the exact copy of demo, you have to install Quickstart not a template. Quickstart.zip file from 'demosite' directory of purchased package contains standard joomla files and also our template, extenstions, modules and other custom content configured.
It should be treated as a base to start creating your website having all components configured already like on our demo, so you don't have to do it by yourself.
The installation looks like standard manual joomla installation but using quickstart.zip NOT the latest joomla installator.
A template is resopnsible for layout and overlook, but quickstart.zip is both an engine, database and template.
So all yoou have to know is standard joomla installation process :)

I have the same problem too and I don't want to risk uninstalling the fantastico-installed joomla. Isn't there another way to install the template?

It shouldn't be a problem because instead of installing joomla with fatastico you should choose manuall installation.

Collect all data to install joomla/quickstart manually:
FTP details( host name, usermane, password )
Database details( host name, username, password, database name )
If you can't find it on your server panel, your server administrator should help you.

Otherwise you can install the template only and all extensions provided in "extensions" directory of purchased package and then configure everything by yourself.

So it's worth to learn your FTP and database access.
Note that it's not a problem of quickstart but you need to know your FTP/database details to install joomla/quickstart manually cos quickstart contains sample data of demo website. Installing joomla automatically by fantastico you will get the latest joomla installation not copy of demo website.

Hi,

Well, I was thinking that I bougth a template and not the joomla installation with the template.

Could you explain me ? How to install the template via the admin joomla interface ?

Can I do it via the Installers - Templates site in Admin Joomla interface ?

If yes, what is the file to upload ? on the directory Template I have two .zip files what I shoud use ?

I follow these instructions : help.joomla.org/content/view/1691/260/

I use the com_djinstaller.zip file and I had the following error :

ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package

Also, I imagine that I have to install the extensions. What is .zip file I have to use ?

How to do it manually ? What information need and what files I have to configure ?

Thank you

Hi,

If you want to get an exact copy of a demo website of purchased template -> use quickstart.zip to install whole joomla with the template and configured extenstions.
Of course use it only if you create your website from scratch, otherwise all your current data will be overwritten.

If you want to install and configure everything by yourself, install the template from "template" directory and all extensions from "extensions" directory.

a) com_djinstaller.zip - the installation package which includes dj-menu module (main commercial menu module) and the template itself. It will put and publish the main menu (dj-menu module) at the appropriate module position.

Install com_djinstaller.zip package in the same way as ordinary template package.

b) dj-template-name.zip - standard template package.
Install template-name.zip package instead of com_djinstaller.zip if you have dj-menu module already installed or you try to install another DJ template.

Read here and also in templates manual the description of the directiories that your package includes -> www.joomla-monster.com/faq/description-o...nloaded-package.html
