Hello,

This is quite lot work since the whole content area would need to be rebuild.
This would be too much to explain on how to do it, in this case I can only offer you our customization service.

What about just a solid color? I have a busy background image now, and want black text over a light color - doesn't have to be the decoration of parchment... would that be too hard?

I submitted a customization request.... I can change the text to black if you can help me get a light background in the content area beige, is fine... doesn't have to be parchment. Thanks.

Hello,

I have already replied to your ticket:

You will have to create an inner div inside the #jm-content area as you can see on the attached screenshot (this is the index.php file of the template).

The font color you can change for the body tag in the layout.css file. In the same file you need also to put these styles for the background color: #jm-content-in {background: beige; padding: 25px;"}
