What's new in Joomla 3.3?

Goodbye MooTools

It is time to say goodbye to MooTools. Over 25 script elements will be rewritten to jQuery in Joomla core. This will help to speed up your website by loading jQuery library only as well as it will reduce conflicts among Joomla extensions.

Improved Security

Starting with Joomla 3.3, the minimum required PHP version is being raised to PHP 5.3.10, which enhances the level of cryptography that can be used for security passwords.

New Microdata Implementation for SEO

Microdata gives a way to add contextual information to your website and its contents, allowing search engines to index that information in order to make your site more useful to visitors.

Cloud Storage APIs

New Joomla will provide support for Cloud Storage APIs such as Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Dropbox and Rackspace Cloud Files.

Front-end module editing

Super users will access module parameters directly from front-end. This is another step to make Joomla more accessible from the front-end.

As it was said by Michael Babker at Joomla!Day Boston 2014: "Joomla 3.3 will be the most stable Joomla! release. Ever!"

We can't wait for the new Joomla 3.3. What about you? :)
